An Introduction to Purpose
We all incarnate into a Global Consciousness program where everyone has a specific role to play. You were born with a unique Personality and a unique Design that no one else can replicate — this is your nature. The conditioning you pick up from your environment, childhood, society, and culture — this is your nurture.
“Purpose” is a question — particularly in the Western world — that many obsess and agonize over. It is a privilege to be able to ask this question at all; it means your basic needs are met and you no longer have to worry about survival. You have the space to ask bigger existential questions such as, “what is my purpose?” and “why am I here on earth?”
Western society tends to conflate “purpose” with career or a job title. But your purpose is not that shallow; it is much larger than the individual. It is impersonal. It’s about your contribution to the whole as a cell in a much larger organism (the universe).
See, your purpose in life is to be you. I know that sounds spiritual and fluffy, but you really have to understand this in the marrow of your bones. Purpose is not something you can “find” or “figure out” — it unfolds before your very eyes, through every single decision you make. It emerges as you become more and more authentically yourself. It is the moment you begin to follow your own path over the collective, homogenized ideas of what is a “correct” life.
You bring your purpose with you wherever you go; you can’t help it. It infiltrates every aspect of your life. You bring it into your relationships; into creative projects; into a conversation with a stranger; in the way you tend to your garden; in a shocking experience which took you over by surprise.
When you think about purpose, do not think of it in the context of something you are here to “do”; it is something you are here to be.
You are an archetype. You are your own mythology. You are endowed with certain qualities and traits which beg to be expressed in order to evolve human consciousness. This is the program; this is the journey of incarnating into the meat. This is the most spiritual thing there is; the path of individuality.
Your purpose is fulfilled through the way you move through life; it’s your geometry. It’s a custom-tailored suit which only belongs to you. You can’t copy-paste it from anybody else. The role was specifically given to YOU, and your job in this life is to live it out, fully.
Do not compare your journey with anybody else. Do not fall for the illusion that your purpose is something which can be bought from the corner store. Your purpose goes beyond anything your mind could conjure up or imagine; your purpose is something that will take over your life. Trust the process in allowing it to unfold.
